Behind the scenes
February 2002
First of all, thanks for hanging out and spending a little bit of your day with me. A lot of people don't know it, but I have been writing and performing since the age of five. My first axe was really my mother's ukelele.
Mom and Dad really did a great job hiding their disappointment when I told them I wanted to be a singer. After a bunch of open mic nights and solo coffee house gigs (the espresso machine always wins!), I started looking for a band. My first band played one gig at Fernando's Hideaway and called it quits. What's a girl to do? I also spent a little time with:
The Rehabs - I am still
looking for Joe that crazy drummer
Paul Revere and the Soul Raiders - My first horn band!
Ground Zero/Blue Victor - My first attempt at electric guitar
Fade to Blue - A marriage of eight
The Search - still appearing semi-annually at a bonfire near you
Meet my current playmates!
The CD project has taken a hell of a long time. I owe so much to the key players:
Mike Nelson
Scott Olson
Jim Rumpf
Rich Buhl
Joe Brisse
Blaine Prout
Charley Dush
Regina Lafay
Ben Hanson
Kim Knudson
Chris Caliguri
I am also grateful for my favorite author, Lori Lake, who gave me a lot of encouragement and support. Check out her website and order up some of her great fiction!
